Bae gives birth to her first foal, and comes to a startling conclusion that this foal is not her's.

She is without horns or eyes the color of the midsummer fog, she is but a simple white mare; she looks down on the dark bay foal, a single twisted horn spiralling from his forehead. Bae rears back, nearly stumbling along the forest floor over twigs and branches as the tendrils of fear and fog threaten to spin her out of control. "This is not my son! This is not the foal I felt grow within me!" She cries, black eyes rolling as she trembles and backs from the quivering foal who's already begun to raise onto his legs, struggling to find his footing. "This is not my son!"
